Leonardo da Vinci
Leonardo da Vinci is remembered as the man who seemed interested in everything - but did he ever finish the interesting part?
Painter, engineer, anatomist, observer and relentless note-maker, Leonardo treated art and science as parts of the same problem: look closely, test what you see, and distrust easy authority.
This film follows his workshop years, notebooks, anatomy, water studies, experiments with flight, the Mona Lisa and the long trail of unfinished commissions. Some projects failed because politics, money or technique intervened. Others may have lost their hold on him once the intellectual puzzle was solved.
We also test quotations later attached to Leonardo, including sayings that fit his legend better than the surviving evidence. The larger question is modern as well as historical: is curiosity enough - or does discovery only become achievement when somebody finishes the work?
